St. Andrew's Vestry has tasked the following team to handle our rector search process.
Search Committee members:
- David Blindheim
- Elizabeth Darlington
- Sherry Garman
- Sandra Mackey
- Amanda Mitchell
- John Pitts
- Sharon Wilson
The search committee has been meeting weekly on Thursdays and is mentored by Canon Mirabella Maeve Wyatt at the Diocese of Olympia, who has been guiding us through the process of discernment. Assigned roles within our group are: two co-chairs, a chaplain who leads us in prayer, a secretary, a vestry liaison, and two communications people. We have created rubrics for how we engage with the application materials and how we evaluate candidates. We are committed to having an equitable process. Prayer as we discern is much appreciated!
11/8/24 – Update 4:
The application window for our Rector position closed on September 12; applications have been reviewed; and interviews are being conducted. We appreciate your continued prayers and support for our confidential process and for our candidates.
10/18/24 – Update 3:
The six week application window closed on September 12, and the search committee recently received the names of our applicants following a vetting process by the Diocese. We are prayerfully working on going through all of the applicant materials. This will take some time as we reflect on how each applicant might answer what has been laid out for us in the Parish Profile, which is our guiding document for this process. We thank you for all of your prayers – for St. Andrew’s, for our committee, and for the applicants and their loved ones.
9/13/24 – Update 2:
The job posting close date was September 12, so that means that all of the applications should be submitted to the Diocese for review. The vetting process will likely take several weeks, after which time the search committee will receive names of applicants to begin our discernment. We ask that everyone hold this process and our new rector in your prayers.
8/5/24 – At services on August 4th, St. Andrew’s Search Committee announced that it has begun work on the rector search, that the position is now open for applications, and that the closing date is September 12th. We ask your continued prayers to lead the right person to apply for our position. Our listing on the Episcopal News Service is here.
