I first ushered at St. Andrew’s on Christmas Eve 1993. What I most appreciate about St. Andrew’s is the people, and ushering allows me to greet people at the door. The first person one often encounters when arriving for Sunday worship is the usher. Last year, a parishioner told me that one Sunday he arrived at church in a bad mood, but the warm greetings from the ushers brightened his spirits and changed his day.

Ushers help by seating parishioners in pews, guiding people up for communion, and assisting parishioners in exiting the sanctuary. We need at least two ushers at the 8am service and 4 ushers at the 10am service. Please contact Van Bobbitt at van.bobbitt@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering.
We also need volunteers to greet and check parishioners and visitors in for worship at both the 8am and 10am services. This is an opportunity to offer a robust welcome to all who walk through our doors. We anticipate needing 2-4 greeters at each service. Please let us know if you would like to serve in this way.
